Welcome to My Grief Community

A gentle community born from my own need for one—a place where we can make room for grief, allow it to move through the body, and practice carrying it together.

I remember the moment my cousin said, “Grief needs to be witnessed.” This community is being created from my own need for a place where grief does not have to be explained, rushed, fixed, spiritualized, or made more comfortable for someone else, just witnessed.

I am not here as an expert on your grief. I am here as a fellow grieving human, an experienced facilitator, and someone who knows how to thoughtfully curate spaces for embodiment, reflection, connection, and compassionate witness.

There will be moments of education, but this is not primarily a class about grief. It is a place to experience your grief—to notice how it lives in your body, give it room to move, and allow it to be witnessed within a caring community.

Through breath, movement, stillness, reflection, ritual, conversation, and shared presence, we will practice metabolizing what we have been carrying.

You do not have to grieve the right way here.

You do not have to be “better” by the end.

You do not have to carry it alone.

Please see below my grief community offerings.

Who Is This Community For?

This community is for anyone moving through grief.

I have come to realize that grief is not new to me—and it may not be new to you either. We have been grieving throughout our lives. What may be new is this particular loss, the intensity of it, or the way it has brought every grief that came before it closer to the surface.

You may be grieving:

  • The death of someone you love

  • An anticipated death or life-changing diagnosis

  • A relationship, friendship, or family you thought you would have

  • A changing body, chronic illness, disability, or loss of capacity

  • A pregnancy, birth experience, or path to parenthood

  • A home, community, culture, faith, or sense of belonging

  • An identity, role, dream, or version of your future

  • A transition that you chose but still carries loss

  • The state of the world or the suffering of your community

  • A loss that others do not fully see, understand, or recognize

You do not need to decide whether your grief is significant enough to belong here. You do not need to compare it to anyone else’s or wait until you can explain it clearly.

If you are carrying grief and longing for a place where it can breathe, move, and be witnessed, there is room for you here.

Community Grief Gathering

Sunday, August 30
2:00–3:30 p.m. Pacific Time
Free to attend

Grief needs somewhere to go.

Join me for a free gathering created for anyone longing for a more honest, embodied, and communal way of being with grief.

This will not be a lecture about the stages of grief or a conversation centered on “moving on.” Together, we will make room for what is already here through gentle embodiment, guided reflection, meaningful conversation, and compassionate witness.

You will be invited to participate at the level that feels accessible to you. You may share, move, write, rest, listen, or simply allow yourself to be among people who understand that grief does not follow a predictable timeline.

During our time together, I will also introduce the upcoming eight-week Grief Circle for those who desire a smaller, more consistent community in which to continue this work.

Come exactly as you are—and bring whatever your grief looks like that day.

Grief was never meant to be carried alone.

An Eight-Week Embodied Grief Circle

Sundays, September 6–October 25
2:00–3:30 p.m. Pacific Time
Limited to 12 participants

Grief changes us—but too often, we are expected to carry that change privately.

This eight-week circle is an intimate community for people who want more than information about grief. It is a place to develop a relationship with your grief, explore how it is held in your body, and experience what becomes possible when it is met with presence rather than pressure.

Each gathering will include a brief educational offering, but education is not the heart of this experience. The heart is the circle itself: being present with what is true, practicing embodied ways of tending to grief, and allowing ourselves to be compassionately witnessed by people who are learning to do the same.

Our gatherings may include:

• Gentle movement and embodied awareness
• Breathwork and nervous-system support
• Guided reflection and journaling
• Ritual, remembrance, and meaning-making
• Space for silence, expression, and conversation
• Practices for living alongside grief
• Opportunities to witness and be witnessed
• The gradual creation of an intimate, connected community

This is not a space where you will be asked to perform your pain, share before you are ready, or follow a prescribed timeline. You are welcome to participate in the ways your body and capacity allow.

Why eight weeks?

Trust and connection take time.

The consistency of returning to the same circle allows us to move beyond the surface and create relationships that can hold honesty, tenderness, grief, laughter, anger, uncertainty, and even moments of joy.

Your commitment is a meaningful part of creating that safety. Participants are encouraged to attend all eight gatherings whenever possible. If you must miss a week, you will receive the recorded educational offering and guided practice. To protect everyone’s privacy, personal sharing and witnessing within the circle will not be recorded.

My hope is that this becomes more than a group you attend. I hope it becomes a community you can feel connected to—and, with mutual consent and care, one whose members may begin supporting one another beyond our scheduled gatherings.

My role

I am not positioning myself as an expert on your grief. No one knows your relationship, your loss, your body, or your grief better than you do.

I am a fellow griever and an experienced facilitator. My role is to thoughtfully create and guide a space where grief can be felt, expressed, embodied, explored, and witnessed without being rushed or repaired.

This circle is a peer-centered educational and embodied community experience. It is not psychotherapy, crisis care, or a replacement for individualized mental-health support.

Choose Your Rate

This circle is offered through a three-tier sliding scale. Every participant receives the same complete experience, regardless of the rate selected.

Community-Supported Rate: $240 ($30/class)
For those experiencing financial constraint who would otherwise be unable to participate. A limited number of spaces are available at this rate.

Sustaining Rate: $360 ($45/class)
This is the true-cost rate and reflects the preparation, facilitation, resources, communication, and care involved in holding the eight-week experience.

Community-Care Rate: $480 ($60/class)
For those with greater financial capacity. Choosing this rate helps make community-supported spaces possible without requiring the me, facilitator, to absorb the difference.

Please choose the rate that most honestly reflects your current access to resources. No explanation or proof of financial need is required.

Payment may be made in full or divided into 2 monthly payments. Venmo @michellepasos or Zelle 626.215.8015.
